Questions
How to play Roblox with a controller on a Mac
Roblox on the Mac supports gamepads, and an Xbox controller is the one it expects; PlayStation and Switch pads work too because macOS presents them the same way. Pair the controller, open Roblox, and most experiences respond. The catch is that each Roblox experience decides its own controls, and a lot of them only listen to the keyboard.
Connecting
Pair the pad in System Settings, Bluetooth, or plug it in; the connect a controller page has the pairing button for each one. In Roblox, the in-game menu (the Roblox logo, then Settings) shows a Gamepad input option once a controller is seen. The left stick moves, right stick turns the camera, A jumps.
When an experience ignores it
Roblox experiences are made by their creators, and many were built for keyboard only, or use keys the gamepad layout never sends. For those, InputConfig maps the controller to the keys the experience uses: WASD and Space on the sticks and buttons, the number keys for tools on the D-pad, E and F on the bumpers. The experience sees a keyboard. Switching presets per experience takes a click, and the app can switch automatically when Roblox comes to the front.
A note on the pointer
Roblox's menus and a lot of its games want a mouse. Put the pointer on the left stick and a click on a trigger in the mapping, and the whole thing becomes playable from the sofa, menus included.
Questions
Does Roblox support controllers on Mac?
Yes, gamepads in general and Xbox controllers in particular. Individual experiences may not use it; a mapper covers those.
Can I use a PS5 controller for Roblox on a Mac?
Yes. Pair it over Bluetooth; Roblox sees it as a gamepad.
