Free controller mapper for Mac: the honest list
I make one of these, InputConfig, so read this knowing that. I have tried to be fair; the others are good at things, and a couple were here years before mine. Here is what exists on the Mac in 2026 and what each is for.

How to pick
If you want one remap for one Steam game, Steam Input is already installed. If you want a quick pad-to-keys job and nothing else, JoyKeyMapper is small and free. If you want the controller to do everything, games without support, the whole Mac, the touchpad and gyro, MIDI gear as input, one-stick driving, switches, that is what I built InputConfig for, and it is free. If you have used Enjoyable for years and it still works for you, there is no reason to move.

Is there a free alternative to reWASD for Mac?
reWASD is Windows only. On the Mac, InputConfig covers the same ground, free and open source; JoyKeyMapper and Enjoyable are the lighter free options.
Which controller mapper for Mac is open source?
InputConfig, Enjoyable, and JoyKeyMapper all publish their source.
