Questions

Is there AntiMicroX for Mac?

No. AntiMicroX's own description says it lets you control any desktop application with a gamepad on Linux and Windows, and its installation notes cover those two. Its page also says the project is looking for a new maintainer and will get limited support for now. On a Mac the same job, a gamepad sending keys and mouse input to programs that ignore controllers, is done by a mapper. I make InputConfig, a free, open-source Mac app that does it.

Steps

  1. Install InputConfig from the Mac App Store and allow Accessibility access.
  2. Pair the controller and check it lights up in the Live Visualizer.
  3. Search the Smart Preset Maker for your game before building from scratch.
  4. For each AntiMicroX mapping, press Scan, press the button, and pick the key or click.
  5. Press Activate.

Rebuild a profile with Scan

InputConfig does not open AntiMicroX profile files, so a profile is rebuilt by hand, and that is quicker than it sounds.

  • You: Add a row, press Scan and press the controller button. Pick the key, click or macro it sent in AntiMicroX.
  • InputConfig: Binds the row to that button, whatever number AntiMicroX gave it.
  • Check: Activate the preset and press the button in the game.

For a known game, look in the Smart Preset Maker first: it holds ready layouts for more than 450 games and apps. Scan reads the button you press, so the numbering from another program does not matter.

What does not carry over

  • Profile files. They are not imported.
  • SDL mapping strings. AntiMicroX can generate them for unusual gamepads. InputConfig does not, though it bundles the community database's Mac entries and reads many unlisted pads directly.
  • A virtual controller. InputConfig sends keyboard and mouse input. A game that only accepts a gamepad needs one macOS recognizes.

It replaces what AntiMicroX sends to a game, not the files it saves.

The short version

  • AntiMicroX. Linux and Windows only.
  • On a Mac. InputConfig, free and open source.
  • Moving over. Rebuild each mapping with Scan, or start from a ready layout.

A gamepad that types keys and moves the pointer needs a mapper, and the Mac has a free one.

Questions

Is there an AntiMicroX for Mac?

No. AntiMicroX's own description names Linux and Windows, and it has no macOS build. On a Mac, InputConfig does the same job: a gamepad sending keys, mouse movement and macros.

Is AntiMicroX still maintained?

Its project page says it is looking for a new maintainer, and that for now it has limited support and will get no new features unless outside contributors write them. That is what the page said on October 6, 2026.

Can InputConfig open AntiMicroX profiles?

No. Profiles are rebuilt with Scan: press the button on the controller and pick what it sends. The Smart Preset Maker has ready layouts for more than 450 games and apps.

Is the Mac alternative free?

Yes. InputConfig is free on the Mac App Store and open source, with no account and no tracking.
