Call of Duty: Warzone on a Mac with a controller
The Call of Duty: Warzone layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
On a Mac: No Mac version. Xbox Cloud Gaming carries it (checked September 2026) and plays in a browser on the Mac, and it also streams from a Windows PC you own. A stream normally hands your controller to the game's own scheme with aim assist. This layout is the keyboard-and-mouse game from a pad, for when the stream does not see the controller.
You can play Warzone on a Mac with a controller through a stream: Xbox Cloud Gaming in a browser, or a Windows PC you own. There is no Mac version. A stream normally hands the controller to the game's own scheme with aim assist, and if your pad shows up, play that way.
When it does not, which happens with some Bluetooth pads in some browsers, this layout is the fallback: the keyboard and mouse game sent from the controller. It is also what a few keyboard players want on a pad, because Warzone's keyboard movement, the slide cancel and the drop shot, is timing you can put on a macro, and I would be lying if I said nobody asks for that.

The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Move and look. W, A, S and D on the left stick, mouse look on the right.
- Shoot. Fire on the right trigger, aim down sights on the left.
- Sprint. The left stick click, held. For tactical sprint, add a double-tap action on that row that sends Shift again.
- Face buttons. Jump and mantle on the bottom, crouch and slide (C) on the right, reload on the left, F to use on the top.
- Equipment. Lethal (G) on the left bumper, tactical (Q) on the right.
- Weapons and menus. The D-pad is weapons 1 and 2, melee, and the ping and map key. Tab for the map and inventory on Create, Escape on Options.
Sprint on a held stick click, tactical sprint on a double tap of the same click.
Tune it to how you play
- Slide cancel. It is a macro: Shift held, C, a short wait, C again. Put it on the crouch row's double-tap action or on a chord, and one press does what took three.
- Drop shot. Set the fire row to Different action when held, with Ctrl (prone) as the hold output. A tap fires. A firm hold goes prone.
- Armor plates. The plate key is 4 on keyboard, and it is the one you will want most. Bind it to a face button behind a chord.
- Aim speed while scoped. Add slower right-stick rows with While holding set to L2: hip fire at 20, aiming down sights at 12.
- Gyro. Use DualSense gyro at a low speed for the last inch of an aim, with Pause Motion While Held on the touchpad press. Gyro aim explains it.
One macro row turns a three-press slide cancel into one press.
If the stream already sees your pad
Use the game's own scheme and leave this preset off. With this layout the game sees a mouse, so there is no aim assist. InputConfig does not hide the controller, so a stream that reads the pad while the preset runs gets every press twice.
InputConfig never touches the game or the stream, and I cannot interpret the game's terms for you. If you want aim assist, let the stream see the pad.
Call of Duty: Warzone controller support: controller or keyboard
Steam's store page lists full controller support for Call of Duty: Warzone, so the game was made to be played on a controller, menus included. A keyboard and mouse work as well, and the choice is yours. On a Mac, use the game's own controller support first when it sees your pad; this layout is for a pad it does not see, or for buttons it will not let you move. Full support listed means the controller is a first-class way to play Call of Duty: Warzone.
From Steam's listing, checked in October 2026. Every game's listing is in Mac games with controller support.
If your controller is not working in Call of Duty: Warzone
When Call of Duty: Warzone does not react to your controller on a Mac, climb this ladder, smallest step first:
- Check that the Mac sees the controller. Open the gamepad tester and press a button. If nothing lights up there, the problem is the connection, and a controller that is connected but not working covers that first.
- Press a button after the stream has started. A stream only picks up a controller that is paired with the Mac, and a browser shows a controller to a page only after a button press. Start Call of Duty: Warzone, then press any button. Streaming from your own PC has its own checks, in how to stream PC games to a Mac with a controller.
- Play it from keys. If Call of Duty: Warzone still ignores the pad, activate this layout. It sends the keyboard and mouse controls Call of Duty: Warzone already reads. Turn the game's own controller option off while it runs, or a press can arrive twice. The layout works whether or not Call of Duty: Warzone ever sees the controller.
Get it in two clicks
- Get InputConfig free on the Mac App Store, open it, and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Call of Duty: Warzone and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.
To check the controller itself first, the gamepad tester shows every button and stick live in your browser.
Call of Duty: Warzone controls: every button and the key it sends
The Sends column is Call of Duty: Warzone's default keyboard and mouse controls, as this layout expects them. If you changed a key in the game's settings, change the same row in InputConfig.

| Controller | Sends | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Left stick left | A | Strafe left (A) |
| Left stick right | D | Strafe right (D) |
| Left stick up | W | Move forward (W) |
| Left stick down | S | Move back (S) |
| Right stick right | Mouse motion right (speed 20) | Look right |
| Right stick left | Mouse motion left (speed 20) | Look left |
| Right stick down | Mouse motion down (speed 14) | Look down |
| Right stick up | Mouse motion up (speed 14) | Look up |
| Right trigger | Left click | Fire |
| Left trigger | Right click | Aim down sights |
| A / Cross | Space | Jump / mantle |
| B / Circle | C | Crouch / slide (C) |
| X / Square | R | Reload |
| Y / Triangle | F | Use (F) |
| LB / L1 | G | Lethal grenade (G) |
| RB / R1 | Q | Tactical (Q) |
| L3 (left stick click) | Shift (Left) | Sprint (hold) |
| D-pad up | 1 | Primary weapon (1) |
| D-pad left | 2 | Secondary weapon (2) |
| D-pad down | V | Melee (V) |
| D-pad right | M | Ping / map (M) |
| Back / Share / Select | Tab | Map / inventory (Tab) |
| Start / Options | Escape | Menu (Esc) |
Button names follow the Xbox / PlayStation pair shown in the editor, so A / Cross is the bottom face button on either pad. On a Switch Pro Controller the bottom button is labeled B; the mapping still fires on position.
Questions
Can I play Warzone on a Mac?
Through a stream, yes: Xbox Cloud Gaming in a browser, or a Windows PC you own. There is no Mac version. The stream normally passes a controller straight to the game. This layout is for when it does not.
Do I lose aim assist with this layout?
Yes: the game sees a mouse. If you want aim assist, let the stream see the pad and use the game's own scheme.
Are macros allowed in Warzone?
That is between you and the game's terms, which I cannot interpret for you. InputConfig sends keyboard and mouse events on the Mac and never touches the game or the stream.
Does Call of Duty: Warzone have controller support?
Yes. Steam lists full controller support for Call of Duty: Warzone, so every part of the game can be played on a controller.
Is Call of Duty: Warzone better with a controller or a keyboard?
Both work. Steam lists full controller support for Call of Duty: Warzone, so it was made to be played on a controller, and a keyboard and mouse work as well.
Why is my controller not working in Call of Duty: Warzone on a Mac?
First check the Mac itself sees the controller, with the gamepad tester. If it does and Call of Duty: Warzone still ignores it, activate the Call of Duty: Warzone layout in InputConfig, which sends the game's keyboard and mouse controls from the controller.
Can I play Call of Duty: Warzone on an M1 Mac or a MacBook Air?
Yes, through a stream. Call of Duty: Warzone runs on the other end, on a cloud service or your own PC, so the Mac only plays the video and sends your input. An M1 MacBook Air streams it like any other Mac.
