Shortcuts & Apps preset

This preset ships inside InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.

Shortcuts & Apps shows the outputs that run something rather than press a key. A / Cross opens Safari with Open App, B / Circle opens inputconfig.com with Open URL, X / Square and Y / Triangle are the Mission Control and Spotlight system functions, and LB / L1 is Run Siri Shortcut: pick one of your own Shortcuts from the row's menu and a button runs it.

Outputs that run something instead of pressing a key: Open App, Open URL, Run Shortcut, and two Mac functions.

Where it is in the app

It ships in the Feature Showcases folder of the sidebar. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. The file below is the same preset, inactive and ungrouped.

Every binding

5 rows. Button names are the Xbox / PlayStation pair the editor shows; a Switch Pro Controller fires by position. Options are the row settings that differ from the defaults.

Notes

• Open App. It takes any application name or bundle identifier.
• Open URL. It takes a web, mail or app link, including app links such as a steam:// game.
• Run Siri Shortcut. It lists the Shortcuts on this Mac, which makes this one row the bridge to home automation, text handling and every app with Shortcuts support.

Run Siri Shortcut is the row to try first, because a Shortcut can do almost anything.

To add one, drop the file on InputConfig's Dock icon, or see importing a preset. It arrives inactive, and any launch target in it is cleared.
