Built-in preset
Easy Browse preset
Easy Browse is the layout InputConfig offers first, on the welcome screen, for anyone who wants the whole Mac from a controller without learning a system. The left stick moves the pointer and starts slow, so small targets are easy to land on; the right stick scrolls. A clicks, B goes back a page, X closes menus and pop-ups, and Y confirms or opens. Press the left stick to grab a window, a file or some text, and press it again to drop; press the right stick for a double click. Both give a firm buzz so you know they counted. LB starts Dictation, RB reads the selected text aloud, Start or the touchpad opens Spotlight, and Back shows Mission Control. The D-pad moves through web pages and tabs, one direction at a time.
It began as a tester's own layout, and the setup guide for a parent walks through the Mac settings around it. For writing and editing with a mouse in the other hand, Easy Edit is its companion.
This preset ships inside InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. macOS 14 or later, no account, no tracking, open source.

21 rows. Button names are the Xbox / PlayStation pair the editor shows; a Switch Pro Controller fires by position. Options are the row settings that differ from the defaults.
Notes
- Spoken names. The face buttons say their names through the Mac's sound output while you learn them; switch that off in each row's Options.
- Dictation. It needs to be on in System Settings, Keyboard.
- Reading aloud. It needs Speak selection on in System Settings, Accessibility, Spoken Content.
Switch on Dictation and Speak selection before the first session, so every button works the first time.

To add a downloaded preset: drop the file on InputConfig's Dock icon, or click the … button next to any preset in the sidebar, choose Import Preset File, and pick the file. It lands in the sidebar, ready to activate or edit. Any launch target inside a preset file is cleared on import; add one yourself in the editor if you want it.
