Does a Corsair mouse work on a Mac?
Yes. The pointer, both main buttons and the scroll wheel work on any Mac with nothing installed, and Corsair publishes its iCUE app for macOS, which adjusts lighting, performance and key assignments on supported devices. One limit catches people: Corsair says iCUE only detects a device connected by USB, through a cable or its wireless receiver. A mouse paired over Bluetooth works as a mouse, and iCUE will not see it.
Those facts are from Corsair's own guide to installing iCUE for macOS and from its downloads page, and I read both on October 7, 2026. I make InputConfig, a free Mac app that reads any mouse's extra buttons and gives each one a job, with or without iCUE.

Steps
- Plug in the mouse or its wireless receiver. The pointer, clicks and scrolling work at once.
- To change its settings, download iCUE for macOS from Corsair's downloads page.
- Connect by cable or receiver, not Bluetooth, so iCUE can detect the mouse.
- For side buttons in any app, bind them in InputConfig: press Scan on a row, then press the button.
Use iCUE for macOS
- You: Download iCUE for macOS from Corsair's downloads page and install it. Connect the mouse with its cable or its wireless receiver.
- macOS: Asks for your password during the install. On first launch iCUE asks permission to detect Corsair devices.
- Check: The mouse appears in iCUE. If it does not, check that it is not on Bluetooth.
iCUE sees a Corsair mouse on a cable or its receiver, and never over Bluetooth. Which models iCUE for macOS supports is on Corsair's compatibility list, so check yours there.
InputConfig is completely free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.
Know what works with nothing installed
- Pointer, clicks and scroll. A Corsair mouse is a standard mouse to a Mac.
- Speed. System Settings, Mouse sets tracking speed. The mouse's own DPI button changes sensitivity inside the mouse.
- Side buttons. They reach the Mac as Button 4 and Button 5. Whether anything happens is up to the app in front.
The mouse works without iCUE, and you only need iCUE when you want to change what the mouse stores.
Make the side buttons do something
- You: Open InputConfig, add a row, press Scan, and press a side button.
- InputConfig: Shows the row as Button 4 or Button 5.
- Check: Choose what it sends: Back, Forward, a shortcut, Mission Control, a macro.
It reads the buttons macOS already receives, so it needs nothing from the maker. A row can also hold back the button's own action, so a browser that does use Button 4 does not go back twice. On a Mac the side buttons need an app, and it can be iCUE or a mapper. Mouse side buttons on a Mac has the full setup, and mouse back button not working explains the cause.
Handle a Scimitar's thumb grid
A mouse with a grid of thumb buttons, such as the Scimitar, reaches a Mac as a keyboard for those buttons, so they type. InputConfig listens to the keyboard; it does not block or remap the key itself. The fix is in the mouse: in iCUE, assign the grid to keys nothing else uses, F13 to F20, then bind those keys in InputConfig. Once the thumb grid sends keys that type nothing, every one of those buttons is free to assign. How to map extra mouse buttons on a Mac walks through it.
If the mouse does not work at all
- Try another port. Plug the cable or receiver into the Mac directly, not a hub.
- Check the mode switch. A mouse with both a receiver and Bluetooth only talks to the one it is set to.
- Pair it again. For Bluetooth, remove it in System Settings, Bluetooth and pair it fresh.
- Charge it. A flat battery looks like a dead mouse.
When the pointer moves, the mouse is working, and the rest is a matter of settings. The mouse tester shows every button the Mac receives, in a browser.
The short version
- Works. You get the pointer, clicks and scrolling on any Mac.
- iCUE. There is a macOS version. It needs the cable or the receiver.
- Side buttons. Bind them in iCUE, or in a mapper that works in every app.
Plug it in by cable or receiver if you want iCUE, and bind the side buttons where you like.

Do Corsair mice work on a Mac?
Yes. The pointer, main buttons and scroll wheel work with nothing installed, and Corsair publishes iCUE for macOS for supported devices.
Is there Corsair iCUE for Mac?
Yes. Corsair's downloads page has iCUE for macOS, which adjusts lighting, performance and key assignments.
