Built-in preset

Minecraft preset

Minecraft Java Edition on the Mac has no controller support of its own. This preset gives it a console-style layout: movement and camera on the sticks, mine and place on the triggers, jump and sneak on the face buttons, and the hotbar on the bumpers, with a light bar colour to match.

WASD + mouse look, triggers mine/place, bumpers cycle hotbar, D-pad hotbar 1-4. Uses standard gamepad indices so the same layout drives DualSense, Xbox, Switch Pro, 8BitDo and any other connected controller.

Where it is in the app

It ships inside InputConfig: open the sidebar and look in its folder, or search for it. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. It is also here as a file, identical apart from being inactive and ungrouped, for anyone who deleted theirs or wants it on another Mac.

Notes

Turn on confine, recenter, and hide cursor in the preset's automation section so the mouse look never runs off the window. Set the launch target to your Minecraft launcher to open the game on activate. For Bedrock, which has native controller support, use the real controller instead.

Download

Open a downloaded preset with InputConfig, or drag it onto the app icon. It lands in the sidebar, ready to activate or edit. Any launch target inside a preset file is cleared on import; add one yourself in the editor if you want it.
