Built-in example presets
InputConfig ships with a library of example presets sorted into folders in the sidebar. Every one is a working starting point you can activate, edit, or duplicate, and every one is also on this site as a file with its full binding table. The Smart Preset Maker adds hundreds more on request; this page is about the ones that are there on first launch.
Desktop & Productivity
Desktop Navigation maps the sticks to pointer and scroll plus common shortcuts. Web Browsing adds tab cycling and history. Mouse + Scroll is a clean dual-stick mouse. Media Controller puts play, pause, volume, and track skip on the face buttons. Presentation Remote drives Keynote-style slide navigation. Anki turns the face buttons into flashcard ratings with undo, audio replay, mark, and bury.
Gaming
One FPS preset per controller family so the button positions are native: FPS (PS5 DualSense), FPS (Xbox), FPS (Switch Pro), and FPS (8BitDo), each with WASD on the left stick, mouse aim on the right, and fire and aim on the triggers. By genre: Minecraft, Fortnite with building and editing, and Racing Game with steering on the stick and pedals on the triggers.
MIDI & Creative
Outbound: MIDI: DAW Performance, MIDI: Drum Pad, MIDI: Transport Control, and MIDI: CC Dials send to the app's virtual port. Inbound: MIDI: Knob Deck and MIDI: Media Deck let a MIDI keyboard or pad controller run the Mac.
Feature Showcases
Each one demonstrates a single feature so you can open it and see the settings. Variable Sensitivity, Deadzone Calibration, Haptic Feedback, Spoken Feedback, Macros & Turbo, Toggle Mode, Stacked Outputs, Touchpad Mouse, Gyro Aim, Motion Cursor, Steam Controller, and Tap the Mac.
Editing or copying one
They are ordinary presets in your data folder. Edit them directly, or right-click and Duplicate to keep the original. If you delete one and want it back, download it from its page here and open the file with the app.
Questions
Do the built-in presets come back after an update?
An update never touches your data folder, so whatever you have is what stays. New presets added in a release are added alongside.
Are the download files identical to the built-in ones?
Yes, apart from being inactive and ungrouped so they land cleanly in your sidebar.
