Built-in preset

Steam Controller preset

The layout for Valve's Steam Controller, read directly by the app: the right trackpad is the mouse, the left pad scrolls, the triggers are left and right click, and the face buttons and rear grips carry the keys. A comfortable couch layout for a browser or a media app.

Plug in a Steam Controller (wired or wireless dongle); it appears as a virtual slot just past your MFi controllers

Where it is in the app

It ships inside InputConfig: open the sidebar and look in its folder, or search for it. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. It is also here as a file, identical apart from being inactive and ungrouped, for anyone who deleted theirs or wants it on another Mac.

Notes

Quit Steam before using it, or the two will fight over the controller's lizard mode. The Steam Controller page has the button index table.

Download

Open a downloaded preset with InputConfig, or drag it onto the app icon. It lands in the sidebar, ready to activate or edit. Any launch target inside a preset file is cleared on import; add one yourself in the editor if you want it.
