Built-in preset

MIDI: Knob Deck preset

The inbound MIDI preset: a MIDI keyboard or knob box drives the Mac. The volume knob becomes the Mac's volume fader, the mod wheel scrolls faster the further it is pushed, a knob nudges the arrow keys per step, the sustain pedal is a click, and a key is Return. It runs with no game controller connected.

CC 7 = volume fader, mod wheel = scroll, CC 71 = arrows, pedal = click

Where it is in the app

It ships inside InputConfig: open the sidebar and look in its folder, or search for it. Activate it, or press Edit to see every row. It is also here as a file, identical apart from being inactive and ungrouped, for anyone who deleted theirs or wants it on another Mac.

Notes

Every row is bound to any channel and any device, so it works on the first MIDI device you plug in. Re-scan rows to match your hardware's CC numbers. The MIDI input page explains the three knob modes it uses.

Download

Open a downloaded preset with InputConfig, or drag it onto the app icon. It lands in the sidebar, ready to activate or edit. Any launch target inside a preset file is cleared on import; add one yourself in the editor if you want it.
