Scroll a feed from a game controller
The Social Feed Scroll layout is built into InputConfig, free on the Mac App Store. You don't have to make an account, there are no subscriptions, and nothing is locked. Optimized for Apple silicon.

Yes, you can scroll social feeds and news on a Mac from a game controller: smooth scroll on the left stick, fast on the right, click on A or a trigger. It uses scroll wheel events and browser keys, so it works on any site in any browser. A trackpad flick is a fine motor task some hands cannot do, and a feed is how many people read the news and keep up with friends.
The layout, control by control
How the layout thinks
- Scroll. Left stick up and down scroll smoothly, the right stick scrolls fast.
- Point. Left stick left and right move the pointer sideways.
- Click. On the bottom face button and the right trigger, right click on the left trigger.
- Navigate. Back (Command Left Arrow) on the right face button, refresh on the left, top and bottom of the page on the D-pad.
Tune it for reading and replying
- Like. Many sites use L. Check the site's shortcut list and put it on a stick click.
- Reply. Add a Start Dictation row.
- Read a post aloud. Select it, then Speak Selection.
- Calmer scrolling. The Scroll speed slider on the preset's page slows both sticks together.
D-pad up takes you back to the top of the feed in one press.
Get it in two clicks
- Get InputConfig free on the Mac App Store, open it, and click Smart Preset Maker on the welcome screen.
- Search for Social Feed Scroll and pick it. The layout is created as a preset in your sidebar, named and ready.
- Press Activate. Every row can be changed afterwards: the editor's Scan button rebinds any control the moment you touch it.
Every binding, as a table

| Left stick up | Scroll up | Scroll up |
| Right stick down | Scroll down | Scroll down (fast) |
| Right stick up | Scroll up | Scroll up (fast) |
| Left stick left | Mouse motion left (speed 16) | Cursor left |
| Left stick right | Mouse motion right (speed 16) | Cursor right |
| Right trigger | Left click | Click |
| Left trigger | Right click | Right click |
| A / Cross | Left click | Click |
| B / Circle | Command (Left), Left | Back |
| X / Square | Command (Left), R | Refresh |
| D-pad up | Command (Left), Up | Top of page |
| D-pad down | Command (Left), Down | Bottom of page |
Button names follow the Xbox / PlayStation pair shown in the editor, so A / Cross is the bottom face button on either pad. On a Switch Pro Controller the bottom button is labeled B; the mapping still fires on position.
