Every button does one thing, and the ones used most stay under the thumb.\n\nThe D-pad holds the four editing shortcuts together, the way they sit together on a keyboard: up Undo, down Copy, left Cut, right Paste. It counts one direction at a time, so a quick press cannot fire the one next to it. A deletes, B saves, X types a space, Y is Return. Push the left stick down to hear the selected text read aloud, or up, firmly, to start Dictation; push up again to stop. The right stick scrolls.\n\nLT and LB go back and forward a web page, RT and RB switch to the previous and next tab. Back jumps to the browser's address bar, Start opens Spotlight, and a press on the left stick or the touchpad shows Mission Control. The left stick press gives a firm buzz so you know it counted.\n\nThe face buttons and the D-pad say their names out loud while you learn them; switch that off in each row's Options. Dictation needs to be on in System Settings > Keyboard, and reading aloud needs Speak selection on in System Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content.",
